Originally from the beautiful Russian city of St Petersburg, I relocated to Cape Town, South Africa in 2013. I qualified with a Master’s degree in Law and successfully ran my own legal practice in St Petersburg for 10 years, but my move to Cape Town saw a radical change in career ambition and interest. I furthered my studies in Personal Branding and Development and I have been studying fine art for three years and am pursuing a career as an artist and curator.
My paintings are featured on the KykNet television show, Boer Soek ‘n Vrou. I am one of the resident artists and a Curator at the Meerendal Wine Estate Gallery. In April 2017, I became a co-founder and Art Director of Art Invest South Africa (ARTISA).
“The moment you live your dreams, not because of what it will prove or get you, but because that is all you want to do, people’s opinions don’t matter.” – Shannon L. Alder
I am deeply passionate about my work – to paint, for me, means to breathe!
My art, it is self-expression. My vision of the world. My passions interwoven. My inner self – expressed to the outside! I have been collecting memories of experiences over the years – while travelling, observing, feeling.
I am a Nostalgic dreamscapes painter. My work shows some of my old memories wanting to get out and live in the eternal…
I do not like to limit myself to any medium or style. It’s in my nature to be versatile and I want to captivate my viewers with the beauty of this world in the whole palette of colours and forms, as well as the capabilities of each medium.
I paint in watercolour, ink, oil, acrylic and encaustic. I love abstraction, as it allows me to express my mood or feelings to others. You will see this in drips and splatters; in colours bleeding into my landscapes and cityscapes and pouring out of my abstracts. I want my art to speak with other people, tell them their own story, let them feel what they feel, and let them enjoy the beauty of the world.
